Day Before Surgery

The Day Before Surgery was a day of mixed emotions. I worked a full day and said goodbye just to my boss and my one favorite coworker. She gave me a big hug and wished me luck.

We had a resident event at our apartment complex for Valentine's Day that they scheduled today so that I could go before I had my surgery. Which was super nice. I went to that after work. They had pink champagne and Jell-O shots. This would have been an awful idea the day before surgery so I refrained. I did have a cupcake and some candies. I got to see a lot of my neighbors that I am friends with which made me happy. Kind of like an informal goodbye to everyone.

We grabbed something to eat, and since I was supposed to eat a small, light, non-greasy meal, I got some soup at a Cafe we have next door. Little did I know how much soup would be in my future :). I also drank a lot of water to try and stay hydrated. I knew after I went to bed I wouldn't be able to have any water, so I had some extra.

We went to go pick up Phil's Mom from the airport. On the way there I started realizing how real everything was and started crying. Phil looked and me and said "Seriously, you have not been nervous all this time until now? I have been nervous for you for a week." I held his hand and got over it, but I will not forget the feeling.

We got to the airport and I had some second thoughts about going. All of the germs there, and I thought my luck I would wake up sick and not feel well. I also worried I should have stayed home and gotten some extra rest. I know it is silly, but I wanted everything to go perfect. I didn't want any problems. It was really nice to go and see her. I am glad I went.

We came home to balloons from the girls in the office which was so sweet!
One of the girls also made me an awesome get well soon bag.
It was time for bed by the time we made it home. I took my night before shower. I was instructed I could shower with all my normal products for hair, face, and body, and then to clean everything with the Hibiclens. Including hair. Surprisingly it didn't dry my hair out terribly, and I could still comb it out. I went to bed around 11 and set my alarm for 4 am.
